Warka Game "Warownia"
2001
The game consisted of walking through 5 castles, which were built in the form of a modular labyrinth of immeasurable chambers. In "rooms", the user found items to perform tasks and collected bags of money. He could also take part in numerous tournaments and solve logical puzzles. This is a project that I had the pleasure of creating 21 years ago. It is hard to believe. In 2001, I started working on this internet game for the producer of one of the most popular beers in Poland - Warka beer. The game was created in the popular Adobe Flash program using the Action Script engine. I worked with the Flash master Grzegorz Kosno, who was the author of the game mechanics. We came up with them together, Grzegorz programmed, and I drew and animated. Marcin Kostaciński and Artur Urbański were the co-creators of the idea for the game. It was several months. I have made dozens of animation illustrations. I experimented with an illustrative technique that later became known as "pixel art" and "isometric art".
I think that after 21 years, this game and illustrations can still be enjoyed.

The game refers to tradition - the history of Poland. Details included in symbols, inscriptions or clothes were not consulted in the form of a historical presentation, but only my inspiration.
Main character
Castle 1
When illustrating the first castle, I was inspired by Polish castles known for their tourist routes. There is something amazing about walls that are painstakingly built brick by brick. I tried to depict this medieval diligence in this game environment.

Castle 2
The second castle was also made with bricks, this time I drew a smaller one, inspired by Gothic architecture. Nevertheless, I wanted it to have a distinctive color scheme to clearly distinguish the castles.

Castle 3
I think that this castle turned out to be the most beautiful for me. I decided to build board by board, beam by beam to get an equally complicated look and to increase the variety of castles.

Castle 4
Stone castle. Inspired by ancient architecture, which "folded" stones of irregular size.

Castle 5
I decided to make the last castle round. I admit that it was not easy. It is associated with more classicist architecture.
